JBL Sound System Feedback

Hi guys,
Well, some of the YouTube reviews of the Crown indicated that the JBL sound system is sub par. Of course, I had hoped that this wouldn’t be true in the final car, but unfortunately it appears to be true (as also confirmed by at least one other forum member).

I’m still trying to make sense of it - I’m fully aware that none of the car audio manufacturers (Bose, Harman Kardon, Mark Levinson etc) do not actually make those car audio systems, but these systems must meet a certain quality standard to be permitted to be branded by them.

I’ve always thought of JBL as a decent loudspeaker manufacturer (especially in the professional and studio scene), so it goes beyond my comprehension how the system ended up being that bad.

To finish my long rant - below are my current sound settings that yield a somewhat acceptable sound quality in my ears (mostly pop and rock music):

Treble: -2
Mid: -2
Bass: +2
Fader: -2 (to be rear)
Automatic sound leveling: off

How does everyone else feel about it?
What settings have you found to improve the sound?

Not sure if this helps, but I mostly use a streaming service through my Android cell phone (no experience with Apple, sorry). I don't use Amazon music or Apple Play or SiriusXM. I prefer Qobuz, but Qobuz takes a lot of bandwidth, so I also use Spotify. Our phones are Android OS and we use the PowerAmp app to adjust the tone and the volume.

I didn't have to adjust the equalizer, but I did have to move the "center" of the sound several clicks toward the back of the car. The back speakers were so quiet even the people in the back couldn't hear if the center was in the car's default location. Other than that, I have been pretty happy with the sound.
