It would have been much better if they had put the headlights up higher like on the crown sedan. So much of a vehicles exterior comes down to design over function.
Yes, and put foglights where the headlights are now, or a little lower than where the headlights are now.

I agree the placement of the headlights is terrible. And my driver side headlight has 2 dead spots in it that make dips in the road look like animals coming across the road at night. Frustrating. I'll try adjusting the lights with the screws since I have the Crown Signia XLE model. Light redesign is needed to compensate for the low placement.

Are you aware that you can adjust the level of the headlights with a thumb turn control to the left of your steering wheel? There's nothing you can do about the beam pattern. I had a Venza, and on Venza chatl lines lots of people are upset about a little dark spot on the upper left part of the beam pattern I have both headlights. I suspect they're there so when the headlights are being alone do you merge the two dark spots from the two separate headlights to bring them in to synchronicity. So sounds like Toyota projector headlamps can have some quirky beam patterns.

Headlight lenses are designed in certain patterns of light dispersion to focus light where it is needed most with other areas where light would cause issues with oncoming traffic. I have a 2018 Highlander and those headlight are as bright as my Signia.

How big are the dead spots are you dealing with?

Those of you adjusting your headlights to aim higher may actually cause your car to fail a safety inspection. Here in New England (I've lived in MA, NH & ME), when they pull your car into the inspection bay, there are typically lines on a white wall in front of the car and if your headlights go higher than that, the car fails.

They do this because highlights aimed upward can blind oncoming drivers. It's also pretty rude to do this to those drivers.

Picked up the Limited today and while driving it at night find the lighting adequate. Wouldn't mind it if the DRL was brighter though. Overall, happy with it.
DRL’s are daytime running lights. If you have your light switch set to “Auto”, your headlights will turn on when it gets dark outside. The LED headlights are much brighter than your DRL’s. The LED headlights on my Crown are very bright, so I’m sure they are bright on your Signia as well.

I was wondering if anyone else find the headlights at night for the Signia not bright enough? I haven't purchased one yet, but is the only noticeable drawback for me and was wondering if there are any aftermarket upgrades readily available? TIA
I have the same issue, and have found that turning on the automatic high beams really helps.

This is the first vehicle I have owned where auto high-beam function is responsive and actually useful. It activates every time I would and dims them as needed. Headlights are very good overall.

I'm finding them to be adequate , if you turn on the auto button it will go to brights on a dark road and dim down if an oncoming car is seen- pretty cool.

This is a pretty funny thread. I didn't realize that the purpose of high beams was to irritate other drivers and make them flash back at you. I drive in New Mexico: lights are kind of important in this state. I have zero issues with the lights on our Crown Signia.

I'm bolding what OP said. Really?

And he obviously stopped caring or bought another car anyway:

Agree on the funny part.

I also have zero issues with the headlights. Remember these headlights are mounted lower on the vehicle so they don’t blind oncoming traffic. Plus those headlights meet or exceed the NHTSA requirements or the vehicle wouldn’t be sold in the country. Maybe people need their eyes checked?!

The older we get, cataracts matter.
Thus "my older car was brighter....."
Foglights helped with near vision in certain conditions, not long throw.
Very over rated function in my opinon. Drove from Munich to Vienna in some god awful fog once and rear fog tail lights ( a europe thing) were as important. Sure there are times when fogs are important but most americans just love the "look".
