A dealership in my area got a Crown platinum for sale so I went there and got a test drive to get a feel. I’m prone to motion sickness, and had gotten dizzy from the ride in RAV4, NX, and RX. So wanted to make sure the ride wouldn’t be an issue.
The crown rides better, very smooth, quieter actually than the RX we test drove.
Although after the ride my face still got a bit warm but I think given some time I’d probably adjust to it.
The seating, interior space and layout of the dials, buttons, and just overall design are all excellent and practical! The exterior looks great as well, mature yet sleek, lots of presence.
It’s got way too much power than I need so if I do get one it’ll be a limited trim.
The primary complaint from me is, besides of lacking HUD, power adjusted steering wheel and ambient lighting, the plastic material used on the door panels and around the dashboard. They did feel super cheap, like the kind of plastic one’d find on a sub $20,000 vehicle. I was hoping that it’d at least be some sort of nicer plastic, but nope. The matte plastic used on the center console has a much better finish. The seats material are also nice to the touch and comfortable, so is the steering wheel.
It sounds silly, but for a $60k car I still find the finish on the door panels and dashboard hard to accept tbh.
Really not sure why would Toyota do cost cutting in areas where the customer would interact with all the time.
