New Crown Owner Question

746 Views 9 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  SamuraiJack70
I just got my Crown Limited this week. I love it. Question I haven't figured out yet. Sometimes the map/navigation shows up under the MPH on the driver's display behind the steering wheel and I really like it. But sometimes it's not there. I can't figure out what is causing this. Nowhere in the settings can I find a resolution. Please help!

Hi @ericdavis.tx welcome to the forum and congratulations getting your Crown! How do you like it so far.

Here's what the owners manual says about changing the center display, hopefully this helps. You use the steering wheel controls to chance the way the screen is set up.

Congrats on your Crown @ericdavis.tx. Thoughts on build quality so far?

Appreciate the response. Yes, I followed through all of the manual recommendations but the map showing where you are isn't an option, yet it pops up from time to time (whether or not I'm using navigation)...so I know it's not dependent on me using the actual navigation feature. Very strange. I'll keep trying to figure it out.

So far so good. Drive is nice. Getting 40.7 MPG on my first full tank of gas driving highway and city. Great feel. Nice comfortable cabin ride. Only negative is the technology can be a bit overwhelming but I'll get used to it. Also the wireless charger tends to turn on and off as you drive sometimes, not sure why. May have the dealership check that out.

I notice the same thing the 1st week I got the car I found that it was dropping my profile and not recognizing my profile before taking off due to poor connection in the driveway. But I just made sure before I take off that I go into the menu and select my profile because it wont allow you to if your driving. If you’re under your profile, all the features of the seat, the display, radio stations, etc will be save under that profile. But if it switches to guest, it will go back to default setting until you change the profile.

I noticed the same issue with mine. Followed the instructions but really intermittent. I might ask the dealership to check it. Had to calibrate my seats for the memory settings also. Overall I am happy with the car. Comfortable ride and so far averaged 42MPG.
Anyone knows if there is an easy way to turn off Toyota Sense? Need to turn it off when inside an automatic carwash.
If the reason for turning off TS in the car wash is that the chime is warning you ( too close to an object) just hit the OK button on the left side of the steering wheel

Thank you. I will try that next time.
