Just got a notice via email this morning. Toyota website says:

So I guess we need to be watching for a remedy notice when available. I got this notice through CARFAX which is a free service I got signed up for at my the dealer where I did my first Toyota service. I thought it was going to be just another source of useless spam, but maybe not.

The recall notice shows up for my '23 Crown XLE (Sedan) manufactured in February 2023. I have had the blank screen on startup a few times. Have been able to correct it by stopping and restarting the vehicle or while driving by simply pushing volume button below the screen which seems to boot up the display.

I don't think that the infotainment screen with the button below is what they are referencing.

Maroney sticker on the CS lists two separate 12/3" screens, the infotainment screen and multi information display. The recall notice refers to the blank screen which reduces the ability to see malfunction indicators......driver malfunction indicators are on the multi information display which is located in the speedometer cluster.

My 12/24 production purchased 1/25 is under recall notice ......neither have ever gone blank.

Thanks for the clarification. With that understanding then, I will say that I have not had the failure on my 23 Crown XLE. I have only had the situation where the infotainment screen is blank after starting the vehicle. That said, when and if Toyota offers a remedy for this recall, I will probably go ahead and have the remedy applied as a precaution.

As far as I'm concerned it's another much ado about nothing recall. Same screens and software in my '23 sedan, '23 HiHy and '25 CS. All listed under recall. Literally thousands of starts on the sedan and SUV and hundreds on the CS wagon and not once in any a blank screen upon startup.

Likely some glitch in the programming or in the software on a few units. Could even be triggered by starting with a combo of accessories turned on during startup messing up the screen booting sequence. Could even be caused by an automatic update which I always keep turned off. Definitely not hardware since hardware rarely fixes itself.

No rash of this complaint on other models/Toy forums.....so no big deal for me to worry about.

In addition to this 25TA08 recall notice, my 23 Crown XLE sedan also shows a second recall notice/service campaign 25TD01 Rear Traction Motor Cable Corrosion. Does the Crown Signia also have this recall?
